šŸ¤” Is Being Tall Only Cool When You’re Skinny?

Let’s get into the ugly truth...

Welcome (or Welcome Back) Bestie <3

My name is India and this is the February issue of A Tall Girl’s Newsletter, an add-on of A Tall Girl’s Podcast which is dedicated to helping tall women feel more confident in their height.

In today’s newsletter šŸ‘‡

šŸ™ƒ WTF Was January?

This month felt like a whole year. Let’s just put it that way.

TikTok left and came back.

The job market is not okay.

Anddddd we have a new president.

A lot has been going on in the socio-political climate. In the U.S., we officially have a new president ā€œin townā€ and there have been several changes over the past few weeks that not only caused a stir nationally but globally.

Whatever your stance is on the current political climate, I’m sure we can all agree that there have been some rapid-fire changes. Sometimes, it can be hard to keep up because there’s so much going on.

Just know that it’s okay to take it day by day. Focus on what you can control. A lot of these changes are part of a widescale shift that may or may not affect you, but just do what you can. We’re all gonna be okay in the end, right?

Also one small health update, I went to the doctor about my digestive issues and it didn’t go well. It wasn’t about my health itself but he was not helpful at all and quite frankly came off aggressively when I asked about taking a certain test to get to the bottom of my health problems. So, I will be finding a new doctor. šŸ™ƒ

This is a reminder: If you feel like something is off with your health, never take no for an answer.

If you catch a problem early on, do everything in your power to get the tests and treatments you need as soon as possible to avoid bigger issues down the line. Don’t forget—healthcare is a business, and they profit from downplaying the early signs of health problems.

Anyway, enough of that—onto the rest of the newsletter!

šŸ‘š Rachael’s Fashion Take - Fisherman-Core: A Tall-Friendly Take

Rachael is a tall fashion creator standing at 6’3ā€ whose mission is to find quality, affordable clothing that caters to tall frames. To follow Rachael and see her fashion picks and try-ons, check out her Instagram.

Fisherman-core is making waves this season, blending classic, cozy textures with effortless styling. Think cable-knit sweaters, sailor trousers, wide-leg jeans, and chunky knits—pieces that naturally lean oversized, making them tall-friendly even outside dedicated tall sizing.

Taller frames can handle oversized fits with ease, but the key to keeping things polished is playing with proportions. Try pairing long, wide-leg jeans with a chunky knit cardigan that hits around the waist to avoid a droopy look. And don’t shy away from the lug sole and chunky shoe trends—these styles not only add an edge but are way more comfortable than, say, a kitten heel.

The best part? Fisherman-core feels timeless, making it a great addition to your wardrobe for seasons to come.

šŸŽ™ļø Episode of the Month - You’re Pretty, You’re Just Not Tall and Skinny

This is a big question that comes up in the tall girl influencer landscape.

You know the tall girl influencers—the ones who build their platforms around being tall, whether it’s fashion for tall girls, confidence for tall girls, tall girl commentary (like me hehe šŸ˜‰), and so on.

But a creator on TikTok pointed out that the masses tend to follow and uplift tall women on social media only if they are on the skinnier side or if they’re sexualizing themselves.

Meanwhile, those who are more plus-sized (or, quite frankly, have average bodies) are often ridiculed or simply don’t get as much ā€œclout.ā€

Is this true? I dive deeper into it in this month’s episode šŸ‘‡
