📞 BRB…I’m Job-Hunting Right Now

OMW to a trial period for a job

Don't you just LOVE applying to over 500 jobs and still not getting an offer?

I hope your answer is no.

For nearly two months, I’ve been hunting for a part-time job. Since graduating in May, I’ve been applying nonstop, and the TikTok videos about the tough job market aren’t exaggerating. Sadly, they’re right….

I’ve been through it all: closed job postings, rejections, ghosting after interviews, long recruitment processes, and endless waiting. It's been rough.

Rumors say companies might be pretending to hire (literally for what reason???) or be outright scams, and it sure feels that way.

I’m currently in the fourth round for one job and just interviewed for an internship today. I don’t want to say I’m losing hope, but it's getting close.

Thankfully, I have income from freelancing and my podcast, so I’m not too stressed. But not everyone is as fortunate, and some have other people relying on them.

If you're a recent grad or anyone really struggling to get a job, know this: it's not your fault. Even hiring managers say the problem isn’t us—it’s the job market.

So, here's my advice: enjoy the “unemployed life” while you can. Take those 3 p.m. walks on Wednesdays, sleep in, and pursue your hobbies. Because once we get those jobs, we’ll be exhausted—but at least we’ll have more money!

Anyway, I hope I have better news for you by the time this newsletter comes out.

Watch this link in the meantime — WATCH ME!

UPDATE: I got hired for that part time job after completing the fourth round and was fired on the first day 😕 To be fair, it was very mutual because I did not see myself continuing in the position. That’s just life, right?

🍂 Embracing the Resurgence of '70s-Inspired Flares for Fall Fashion

Fall fashion is all about making a statement, and this season, it's clear that '70s-inspired flares are having a major moment. For a while, it felt like wide-leg jeans dominated the trend scene, but this fall, we're seeing a revival of retro flares that are turning heads.

What's particularly exciting about this resurgence is the attention to detail that elevates these flares beyond the basics. The button fly and square pocket details are making a comeback, adding a touch of vintage flair that feels fresh and modern. These subtle yet impactful details bring a sophisticated edge to the classic flare silhouette, making them a must-have for any fashion-forward wardrobe.

Another variation to keep an eye on is the palazzo-style flare. This style is a perfect blend of the wide-leg and flare trends, offering a dramatic and flowy look that's both comfortable and chic. Whether you're shopping at independent retailers or big box stores, you're likely to find these styles available in extra-long inseams, which is great news for those of us with taller frames.

One of the reasons flares are so universally loved is because they flatter all body types. The flare shape helps to balance out your proportions, creating a harmonious silhouette. Plus, with the right shoes, flares can elongate the look of your legs, giving you that effortlessly stylish appearance.

When it comes to styling your flares this fall, the options are endless. Try pairing them with a pointed-toe bootie for a sleek and polished look. A western-style boot can add a bit of rugged charm, while a platform loafer offers a nod to retro vibes. No matter how you choose to style them, flares are a versatile addition to your fall wardrobe that will keep you looking on-trend and flattering your figure.

So, if you're ready to channel your inner '70s fashionista, now is the perfect time to embrace the flare trend. With so many options to choose from, you're sure to find a pair that fits your style and makes you feel fabulous this fall.

🌐 Why Does The Internet Hate Tall Women?

Okay, maybe I’m reaching here, lol, but I came across some interesting things while recording episodes last month.

It started when I found a site where people can meet and potentially date tall women.

Harmless, right?

But given our experiences with being tall and talking about it online, I’m sure you can imagine the kind of conversations happening there.

Then I discovered Tall Girl Fan Pages. What are these?

Tall Girl Fan Pages are accounts that “celebrate” (notice the quotes lol) tall women by showcasing images, videos, and stories that highlight their height.

My hot take: these pages SUCK.

These pages are SUPPOSED to provide a sense of community and celebration, but they also do have a dark side to them.

I don’t even think I need to go any deeper because I’m sure you guys know what I’m talking about. I posted a Reel talking about tall girl fan pages and you guys went OFF.

Needless to say, these pages are probably one of the biggest and most popular places where people objectify tall women. I mean, c’mon. I’m a big advocate for people wearing whatever they wanna wear and being confident in that, but why are y’all mainly posting tall women in 6-inch heels???

First of all, why are y’all mainly posting women who are over the height of 6’3”???? Where are my short tall people at?????????? Not only does this send a message to the general population, but this also sends a very NEGATIVE message to other tall girls seeing this and can even ruin their confidence.

And this brings me to the….
