THIS Is Why People Are Mean To Tall Women? 🤦‍♀️

I FINALLY found the reason...

Welcome (or Welcome Back) Bestie <3

My name is India, and this is the July issue of A Tall Girl’s Newsletter, an add-on of A Tall Girl’s Podcast which is dedicated to helping tall women feel more confident in their height.

It might take you 60 seconds, but it’d help this podcast reach the right people by leaving a review. Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter! I really do appreciate it.

💁‍♀️So Apparently Tall Girls Have Their Own Day???

Imagine this.

I, the host of A Tall Girl’s Podcast, do my regular once-a-day scrolling on Instagram and TikTok on a random summer evening to see a couple of messages of me being tagged in other tall women’s videos.

And listen, I love when the tall girlies send me their videos, tag me, whatever, because I LOVE seeing what they’re doing and sharing it on my platforms. So I’m looking through these videos, and I see one common theme. They’re all related to Tall Girl Appreciation Day…

🥲

WHY IS THIS MY FIRST TIME HEARING ABOUT THIS DAY?? AND HOW DID I MISS THAT??

I don’t know. But in a recent post, I found I was not the only person who didn’t know about this.

So if you’re a tall girly reading this, you are greatly appreciated. You’re amazing. Your height is beautiful. You’re an amazing addition to the world. Stay awesome XD

And I appreciate all of you for supporting this podcast. If you had told me 4 years ago that I would start and grow a podcast for tall girls and join an amazing community of tall women, I wouldn’t have believed you.

3,000 of you guys on Instagram.

1,000 of you guys on TikTok.

Almost 2,000 of you guys on Pinterest and YouTube each.

It amazes me every single day that this podcast is a thing. And it’s all because of you guys. So I just wanna say thank you <33

Warm-Weather Outfits That Actually Work

When you’re tall, summer dressing can be a bit of a challenge. Shorts are often too short, dresses rarely hit where they should, and layering is tricky when it’s 90° and humid.

That’s why this month, we’re focusing on natural fibers like cotton and linen—breathable, comfortable, and perfect for keeping cool without sacrificing style. And the best part? This summer’s trends are all about minimal layers and effortless styling.

Here are a few easy ways to build a tall-friendly summer wardrobe:

💨 Stick to Natural Fibers

Cotton and linen are your best friends this season. Not only do they breathe well, but they also hold their shape and last longer than polyester blends (which tend to look dingy after a few wears).

🧣 Bandana Scarves

A trending accessory that makes a basic outfit feel intentional. Throw one on with a white cotton tee and denim for an easy outfit upgrade—no sweat (literally).

👕 Puff Sleeves

A cotton t-shirt with a puff sleeve instantly elevates a simple look, and tall girls can totally pull off the exaggerated sleeve. It adds volume in all the right ways and balances out longer proportions without feeling overwhelming.

🟨 Bold Gingham & Plaid Prints

Loud prints are doing the work this season, which means less layering and more statement-making pieces. Taller frames can rock all-over prints with ease—try a matching gingham tank and maxi skirt, or mix textures like a linen plaid tie-front top with cotton eyelet shorts. Gingham pants with a denim tank and leather sandals? Effortless.

👟 It’s All About the Shoes

Even the simplest outfit (think white linen shorts + a cotton tee) looks put-together when you finish it off with a trending pair of sporty Mary Janes. This tennis shoe-meets-feminine flat is comfy enough for long days on your feet and stylish enough to pack for every summer getaway.

At 6'3" with a 36" inseam and size 11 feet, I know how hard it can be to find summer pieces that actually fit and feel good. I've rounded up a few of my tall-girl-approved picks to help you build a wardrobe that works with your height, not against it. Here’s to staying cool, comfortable, and confident all summer long ☀️

🤦‍♀️ This Is Why People Are Mean To Tall Women?

I came across a very interesting video titled “Tall Women Aren’t Treated Feminine”. And in this video, the woman spoke about how, because she’s a tall, darker-skinned, heavier woman, people (especially men) treat her very harshly. She even used Megan Thee Stallion as an example.

And it’s no secret that people can be rude, but specifically to tall girls?? Sounds outrageous, right?

But honestly, it’s more common than you think.

The looks. Brutal comments. Sometimes aggressive physical contact.

A lot of us have experienced this, no matter what age we were at.

But why does this happen to us? Why does our height cause people to act this way towards us? I dive deeper into this in the episode of the month! Make sure you tune in :)
