🎉 Happy New Year and Welcome To A Tall Girl’s Newsletter

Happy New Year! Hoping that this new year is treating you well so far.

Or at least treating you better than it’s treating me lol.

With the start of grad school and temperatures that are younger than me in age (under 23 degrees fyi), it’s been a whirlwind.

Since it’s a new year and we have quite a few new subscribers, I figured I would reintroduce myself!

Hi! 👋 My name is India, and I am the host of A Tall Girl’s Podcast

I started this podcast 5 years ago as a way to rant about my height, but now it’s turned into so much more. It transitioned to self-confidence advice, and now I explore topics within the tall girl world and discuss how they affect our mental health, confidence, and self-esteem.

This newsletter is specifically designed to provide updates about my life, tall fashion tips and recs, and updates on the podcast, whether episodes, merch (coming this year???), upcoming tall events, and more. I certainly hope you stick around for a while and check out the rest of this newsletter if you’re interested!

👚 Rachael’s Fashion Take: Modaccio’s Faux Leather Bomber

Rachael is a tall fashion creator standing at 6’3” whose mission is to find quality, affordable clothing that caters to tall frames. To follow Rachael and see her fashion picks and try-ons, check out her Instagram.

Modaccio is a tall-focused brand built on a simple but often overlooked idea: tall women deserve clothing designed for their proportions from the very beginning — not adjusted after the fact. Founded by Kelly Raimon (Schumacher), a former professional athlete standing 6'5", the brand centers timeless wardrobe essentials made with intention, balance, and quality.

That philosophy shows up clearly in Modaccio’s faux leather bomber jacket. While the silhouette is classic, the execution feels considered. The faux leather has a soft, matte finish with dimension, avoiding the shiny or stiff look that can make faux leather feel cheap. The overall fit is intentionally oversized, but the structure keeps it from feeling bulky or shapeless.

Details do the heavy lifting here. The jacket features a zipper and snap closure for versatile styling, snap cuffs instead of elastic, and a ribbed

hem that holds its shape while remaining comfortable. A pleated back allows for movement and prevents the jacket from ballooning, and a full satin lining adds comfort and polish.

Bomber jackets are one of those pieces that cycle through trends without ever really leaving — and this one feels built for longevity. Between the thoughtful construction and tall-specific proportions, it’s a strong example of Modaccio’s approach: elevated essentials that move with real life and actually fit the bodies they’re designed for.

For tall women looking to invest in outerwear that prioritizes proportion, structure, and lasting style, Modaccio is a brand worth knowing.

🤷🏽‍♀️ Height Privilege Doesn’t Exist for Tall Women

There are so many things to love about being tall as a woman.

We naturally command every room we enter. We’re naturally more respected. We give off modelesque vibes.

We can walk quickly, run quickly, and reach for things on top shelves without asking. Clothes hit differently on us. We stand out without trying. And the list goes on and on and on…

And with all of these amazing things to love about being tall, sometimes you have to wonder why many tall women are insecure about, or even hate, their height. Why don’t they realize how amazing and unique it is?

The answer to this is honestly pretty complex, and we’re actually gonna discuss this along with the effects of height privilege on tall women. Tune in to the episode of the month for more!
