🎓Mission Accomplished: My First Month of Grad School
I can’t believe it’s already been a full month since I started graduate school! Actually, yes, I can.
Many of my friends who are also in grad school say time has flown by, but truthfully, I’ve felt every single minute of this past month lol.
For those who don’t know, I’m studying for my MS in Integrated Marketing here in NYC! I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to not only pursue higher education, but also study something I’m genuinely passionate about.
And since it’s been a month, I’ve got a few updates for y’all!
I quit. If you didn’t know, I’m a freelance marketer with a part-time job (yes, all while managing this podcast and going to school part-time lol). Things are starting to get a bit hectic, so I’ve started thinking about the areas in my life that are kinda holding me back. And freelancing is becoming one of those areas. So…I made the decision to quit one of my freelance jobs 🙃 Did I make the wrong decision? We’ll see in a few weeks.
Love sucks. Okay, no it doesn’t lol. Earlier this year, my first relationship ended, which was tough. I wanted to take this year to focus on myself and my goals. However, a new character has popped up in my life. Someone who’s interested in me (and who I’m interested in). The problem is, we’re kind of on different paths right now. And that’s okay. It’s all part of the journey 😊
Crohn’s Disease is kicking my a$$. I’m currently in a flare-up as I’m writing this. My stomach feels weird, and I’m extremely tired. And no matter how many naps I take, it never feels like enough. The good news is I found out my school offers group therapy for students with chronic illnesses! I reached out and will start my first group session this Friday (today!). It feels good to know I’ll be connecting with people who just…get it. Wish me luck!
Fashion shows are cool, but being invited to one is even cooler! A past guest and sponsor of the podcast, Rachel Willingham, hosted a fashion show for her brand RACH WILL in New Jersey and invited me to attend. (You can check out the video HERE!) It was so much fun, and Rachel is extremely, extremely talented. On top of that, I met Judy Stewart from Trèsolz for the first time, which was a surprise! Check out some pics below 👇

👚 Rachael’s Fashion Take: Should You Try Cow Print This Fall?
Rachael is a tall fashion creator standing at 6’3” whose mission is to find quality, affordable clothing that caters to tall frames. To follow Rachael and see her fashion picks and try-ons, check out her Instagram. |
Cow print is everywhere this season—shirts, pants, skirts, jackets, and of course, accessories. But here’s the thing: trends fade. You don’t want to blow your budget on a closet full of pieces you might not love six months from now.
For tall women especially, building a wardrobe is already an investment since not everything comes in our size. That’s why the easiest way to dip into a bold trend like cow print is through accessories. They let you try the look without worrying about fit—or making your whole closet revolve around a trend.
Here are 5 accessories that can add just the right amount of cow print to your style this fall:
![]() Casual Sneakers — A fun, everyday way to test the trend without commitment. | ![]() Work-Ready Flats or Heels – Add just a touch of cow print to your office outfits. |
![]() Belt – Perfect for cinching an oversized sweater or adding interest to jeans. | ![]() Handbag or Crossbody – A statement piece that instantly modernizes your look. |
![]() | Scarf – Easy to wear around your neck, in your hair, or even tied to your tote. Style Tip: If you’re unsure whether cow print is “you,” stick to neutrals (brown, black, cream) instead of high-contrast black and white—it feels more versatile and less costume-y. 🙃 Why Can’t Men Leave Tall Women Alone?
There are a lot of people who try to make tall women insecure.
We have our peers, especially growing up, whether it’s our classmates, teammates, or “friends” calling us those weird, annoying names and asking dumb questions like “How’s the weather up there?”
We also have the adults like teachers, coaches, or even strangers making assumptions about us or staring at us because of our height.
Then, we have family members, the ones who are supposed to always have our backs but pick us apart and make horrible self-comparisons.
And then we have men. And not just any random dude. According to a tall girly on TikTok, this is a specific category of men.
And before you come for me, I’m NOT HATING ON MEN. I understand that this is not representative of all of them (even the ones in the category). I’m simply providing commentary. Anyways, definitely tune in to the episode of the month for more on this topic!
